Dar Taroudant is a fully staffed luxury Riad in the middle of the old walled town of Taroudant, Morocco which lies in the fertile Souss Valley, between the High Atlas and the Anti Atlas mountain ranges. Taroudant is forty five minutes by car from Agadir airport, or a spectacular five hour drive over the High Atlas mountains from Marrakech. The new motorway between Agadir and Marraketch means that Marrakech can now be a two hour drive away. There are two lively souks: the Arab Souk and the Berber Souk. Both are fantastic for a dose of retail therapy so be ready for some serious bargaining. You will find everything Moroccan there, including ceramics, leather, carpets, antiques, fabrics, shoes, jewellery and much more. Trekking and walking in the Atlas mountains is on the doorstep and both provide different experiences. Local guides are readily available.
The main house has three double bedrooms, all en-suite; salon with fireplace and dining room. The studio building can be self sufficient offering a twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a private terrace; salon with fireplace, a massage room and Hammam with shower room.
The big en-suite master bedroom in the studio is flexible and can be twin, or a large double bed – and has a private terrace. The main house master bedroom suite includes the atelier/workroom and a private terrace. The guest bedroom is a charming and cosy space with a double bed, an en suite shower room and its own small terrace; The ‘children’s room’ is open plan on two levels, and very flexible: two double beds, each in its own space; en suite bathroom; a TV/DVD room; and a dressing room – comfortably sleeps four children or two adults. In the summer it’s fabulous to sleep under the stars, on the terrace! There are two salons, a large furnished roof terrace and the private terraces provide lots of space to relax and do your own thing without feeling there are lots of people around. A massage room provides the option for guests to relax. The dining room comfortably seats ten guests.
