This private island which is situated very close to the Greek mainland is a nature lovers paradise. The surroundings are peaceful, natural and idyllic, here you feel that you are in a time warp and you can switch off from hectic modern life. The island which has been in the same family for several generations has interesting history having once belonged to the family of the Tsar of Russia and later bequeathed back to a Greek family via a dowry. The sense of recent history is very prominent here as you sit and contemplate the still waters you can imagine a time when life on the island was different. Now its main inhabitants are birds and some sheep and the owners of the island who live in the next door house.
If you are lucky enough to rent this property you will not have much contact with the owners as they keep to themselves and respect the privacy of the clients, that said they are very charming and hospitable!
The main house that is rented has been recently renovated to a high standard is air conditioned and has modern conveniences. The next door building which dates back to when the Ottomans resided in the area is slowly being renovated and provides a further 4 double bedrooms and two kitchens. These bedrooms while not of the same standard as the main house are charming in a more rustic fashion.
Days here are spent swimming, bird watching, reading, sailing or doing water sports. the island is very safe and children can run free, making hideouts in the woods or camping on a beach.
There is a cook who will prepare daily meals and who also organises the supplies which are brought over from Evia by boat.
This is a truly unique destination for a summer adventure.
