
A delightful 1830s country house and fishing lodge in one of the most spectacular settings in Connemara Ireland,the Lake House offers charming accommodation, glorious scenery, great food and total tranquillity. Located in a wild and unspoilt valley of extraordinary beauty, the one thousand acre estate is one of Ireland’s hidden treasures. The historic lodge, famous as a holiday hideaway, is surrounded by the tallest mountains in Connemara and overlooks the lakes and rivers of a valley famous for salmon and seatrout fishing.
This beautiful lodge has thirteen large comfortable bedrooms one of which is a large family suite and three which can be either twin or triple rooms. A large dining room, a snooker room and three old world reception rooms with log fires all combine to ensure that guests have a warm, relaxing and friendly experience throughout their stay. Although many guests come for a week, we also welcome shorter stays. To enjoy the ‘Experience‘,however,we recommend a stay of at least three nights. The lodge is also available for small weddings and private houseparties for groups of between twenty four to forty for a minimum of two nights.It is are also ideally suited to hosting smaller family gatherings, shooting parties, walking groups and fishing. Formerly the sporting lodge of a local Marquis the lodge is wonderfully secluded, yet within easy reach of beautiful sandy beaches, championship golf courses, horse riding and all the sights of Connemara, Galway and Mayo.
