More ‘palazzo’ than farmhouse it has been lovingly restored with great sophistication & attention to detail. Connected by a series of grand archways the ground floor reception rooms flow seamlessly together leading one onto the terrace with breathtaking views of the valley below and the twelfth century Umbrian fort Rocca D’Aria.he house is well situated to explore the glorious towns of Umbria & Tuscany. Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Gubbio, Arezzo & San Sepulcro are all within forty minutes. A little further afield lies Spoleto, Siena, Todi & Orvieto. Even Florence & Rome are only two hours away. A further five minutes brings you to Umbertide, a charming working town with a large supermarket, banks and everything you could possibly require.
There is a wealth of cultural activity in the area with countless festivals which include international theatre & music in Spoleto, film in Montone, international jazz in Perugia, & classical music festivals in Cortona, Citta di Castello & Magione, amongst many others.There are medieval pageants in Arezzo, San Sepolcro & of course the famous Palio in Siena. Ten minutes drive from the house is the medieval fortress town of Montone, recently voted one of the most beautiful hilltop towns in all of Italy. It has two very fine restaurants and an annual film festival in early July. The house is very comfortable with four bedrooms all en suite. The master bedroom has its own sitting room and very large bathroom with old fashioned bath.
